Who we are?
The establishment of a dog club in Tanzania has been a dream come true for dog lovers throughout the country. It represents a significant milestone after a long and arduous journey. Becoming a member of this large family of dog enthusiasts in Tanzania has been the aspiration of every dog owner for years. Although numerous attempts were made in the past to bring us together, the creation of a nationwide organization demanded unwavering determination, selflessness, and a collective commitment.
While it is impractical to list all the individuals and their efforts that contributed to this achievement, we hugely acknowledge every endeavor that brought us closer to this remarkable milestone. In 2023, the tireless efforts of nineteen founding members paved the way for the establishment of a club that now boasts a substantial membership
The Canine Foundation (TCF) of Tanzania, established in 2023, is an official registered non-profit organization (NGO) dedicated to promoting the welfare and quality of dogs in the country according to international standards set by the FCI (Fédération Cynologique Internationale). As the first organization of its kind in Tanzania, TCF aims to unite dog owners and elevate the standards of dog ownership in the country.
TCF serves as the primary registry for purebred dogs, actively encouraging responsible dog ownership and advocating for the interests of purebred dogs. The foundation provides guidance and support to dog owners, particularly in the areas of breeding programs and adoptions, acting as a mediator for any conflicts that may arise.
Additionally, TCF plays a crucial role in governing and regulating dog shows and performance events, ensuring fair competition and adherence to established standards. It also serves as a forum for addressing significant issues related to dog ownership, health, and welfare throughout the country, making it a vital resource for dog owners and enthusiasts alike.
